IT'S A WRAP! RISE OUR WORLD HERITAGE FILM SHOOT

  APRIL 2023

We had a fantastic time working with the RISE Our World Heritage team and Vatosoa Rakotondrazafy of Beolobe. The RISE project aims to show, act and advocate on how we can combine local knowledge and know-how, sciences and new technologies to provide innovative and efficient solutions to the problems of climate change (adaptation and mitigation) and biodiversity all around the world.

MFP not only filmed for and got the necessary film and aviation permits for the team in Madagascar but Chris Scarffe, MFP’s co-founder also features in the film. Chris took @nicolas_plain, founder of RISE, underwater to show him the incredible reefs and marine life as well as the threats facing them. We are looking forward to seeing the finished film!

TESTIMONIAL

"The entire RISE team had a fantastic experience working with Chris & Goff at MFP. They provided us with very professional pre-production and production services. This included obtaining all the necessary film and aviation permits and advising on the most beautiful and meaningful locations to tell our story. On top of this Chris’s underwater and drone shots were incredible. We highly recommend their services for every stage of production and we would love to work together again."

Dr. Nicolas Plain, Founder of the RISE Our World Heritage project.

Fantastic to see so much of Goff's footage feature in this fascinating production for #OurPlanetEarth 🌍, a @bbcearth BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Wellcome co-production for the BBC. This short film looks into how a small insect can help in the fight against famine.

WeAct, Cookstove, Michel Strogoff, Goff, Madagascar Film & Photography, Deforestation, Fire
by Chris Scarffe 14 Jun, 2023
MFP recently worked with WeAct to document the cookstove project they support in Madagascar. WeAct provides fuel efficient cookstoves to households that reduce the amount of firewood needed to cook. This in turn decreases deforestation and local emissions - and improves health, income and employment opportunities for local communities. Goff traveled with the WeAct crew to Fianarantsoa to photograph in the factories that make the cookstoves and the homes of local community members that are using the stoves.
