MFP INTERNSHIPS


Are you interested in film and photography and would like to improve your skills and gain valuable experience through working with experienced professionals? Here at MFP we are always looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about wildlife, conservation and film and photography to work with our team in Madagascar. 


We deal with each application on a case by case basis but applicants should ideally meet most or all of the criteria below:

• College student or recent college graduate

• Students of biological sciences or film-making & photography

• Speak English and French or Malagasy

• Be computer literate and already have experience in the fields of film and photography. 

• Familiar with video and photo editing software.

• Have a professional portfolio of work


Details of the position:

• full time (40hrs/week)

• unpaid

• duration of 8-12 weeks (flexible)

• The intern is responsible for travel expenses to/from Nosy Be, meals and accommodation in Nosy Be/Nosy Komba and transport to our office. 


MFP interns will mostly be involved with assisting with productions in the field, general office based work at our headquarters, and the work can include (but is not limited to) cataloguing and keywording stock library footage and photos; editing; transcribing interviews; equipment maintenance and working as a runner. Work in the field is dependent on the jobs on during your stay and is not guaranteed but opportunities are likely to arise during your stay.

VIDEO/PHOTOGRAPHIC EDITOR


We are looking for an experienced editor who is familiar with the video and photographic editing programs in Adobe CC. The editor must have an established portfolio of work preferably in the field of documentary and NGO videos. Experience of cataloguing and archiving video and photo files will also be looked upon favourably. 

We deal with each application on a case by case basis but applicants should ideally meet most or all of the criteria below:
• College student or recent college graduate
• At least one years experience as an editor
• Preferably be a Malagasy national or willing to work in conjunction with a Malagasy national as part of our scholarship training program. 
• Speak English and French or Malagasy
• Be computer literate and preferably familiar with the basics of film and photography. 
• Be an experienced editor using Premier Pro, After Effects, Lightroom & Photoshop.
• Have experience in archiving and cataloguing video and photo files for stock photography. 
• Experienced in data wrangling 
• Animation

Details of the position:
• full time (40hrs/week)
• Salary dependent on experience and quality of portfolio. 
• Initial trial period of one month after which either party can end the agreement. 
• Editor is responsible for travel expenses to/from Nosy Be. 
MFP editors work will mostly be involved with editing in-house projects and cataloguing and archiving footage and photographs as well as data wrangling in the field.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT/SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER


MFP IS looking for an experienced personal assistant (PA) and social media manager who is familiar with the full Microsoft Office Suite, creating and updating social media posts, basic accounting and dealing with clients. The PA must have an established body of work and good references. 



• College student or recent college graduate

• At least one years experience as a PA

• Preferably be a Malagasy national or willing to work in conjunction with a Malagasy national as part of our scholarship training program. 

• To be fluent in English, French & Malagasy. 

• Be computer literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience in creating social media posts


Details of the position:

• Full time (40hrs/week)

• Salary dependent on experience.

• Initial trial period of one month after which either party can end the agreement. 

• PA is responsible for travel expenses to/from Nosy Be. 


MFP’s work will mostly be involved with dealing with emails, keeping basic accounts, dealing with clients on the phone and in meetings and updating MFP’s social media.
